Hello, my name is Hunter Calder, and I am a first-year student of a Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Alberta. This summer, I will be working with Scholars Edge to provide quality painting services to the residents of Calgary. Scholars Edge is a student-run painting company that helps university students gain business skills while offering top-notch painting and customer service. As a driven member on numerous teams and crews, I have gained the necessary leadership qualities that allow me to run an efficient yet quality painting business. Outside of work and the classroom I captained both my hockey team, and the senior varsity rugby team at my high school. I also enjoy my time coaching younger hockey players in my former club as it allows me to give back to my community. Hello! My name is Blake, I am 21 years old and attending the University of Calgary. I am currently in my fourth year at the Haskayne school of business. I am now on my third year with Scholars Edge, I couldn’t be more exited to work with my amazing team to add to my community. In sports, school and work I have always been an overachiever who takes the extra steps to be better than the competition. Scholars Edge has been no different. It has been an amazing opportunity for me that has allowed me to build entrepreneurial skills over the last two summers, skills that will last the rest of my life. The drive and work ethic of my team has pushed us to meet and exceed customer expectations in an efficient and timely manner. My main priority is client communication, making sure clients are always heard and understand the process. In the past two years I have worked on over 100 projects across the city of Calgary. Hello, my name is Luca Fontana and I am in my third-year of a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Calgary. After a successful first year running a Scholars Edge business, I am excited to continue providing high-quality painting services to the community. I have always enjoyed combining practical, hands-on work with creative problem-solving, which has made this role a perfect fit for me. In high school, I gained early experience in marketing and customer communication by building and delivering horse shelters while working at the local sawmill with a friend.
