Hi, my name is Roman David, and I am currently a second-year student at the University of Calgary, pursuing my Bachelor of Commerce concentrating in finance. After a successful and memorable high school career, where I graduated with honours as a class historian from Lord Beaverbrook High School, I enrolled at the University of Calgary. I am happy to say that I cracked the Dean’s List at the Haskayne School of Business, along with Scholars Edge’s own Dean’s List last year.

In addition to my academic achievements, I’ve been playing hockey for as long as I can remember. The sport has significantly shaped who I am today. While I no longer play competitively, the lessons I learned from hockey—accountability, teamwork, and perseverance through adversity—continue to influence my approach to life and business. The determination and discipline I learned through sports have become foundational in my personal and professional growth.

I joined Scholar’s Edge in my first year to gain practical experience in the business world, and I am now in my second year with the company. I firmly believe that hands-on experience is the best way to learn, just as hockey taught me that you cannot perfect a slapshot by simply watching others.
